Pastor’s Biography

Pastor’s Biography

Pastor George Edwards was born and raised in Paterson, New Jersey.  In 1981,  after graduating from Eastside High School, George immediately enlisted in the US Navy.

In 1984, George accepted orders to NAVCAMS EASTPAC in Wahiawa, Hawaii. While in Hawaii, he was introduced to The City of Refuge Christian Church and Dr. Wayne E. Anderson in Waipahu, Hawaii. In 1985, George gave his life to Christ and was Baptized in water and the Holy Spirit.  It was during this time under the leadership of Dr. Anderson when George’s early development of God’s call and purpose for his life was established.

In 1989, George was discharged from the Navy and returned  to New Jersey.  After living life and learning lessons from place to place and church to church, George reconnected spiritually in 2003 when he joined Harvest Outreach Ministry under the leadership of Pastor Edward Ramirez.

Guided by Pastor Ramirez, George developed into a church leader and after serving as a Deacon, he was ordained as a Minister of the Gospel with World Harvest Church and Pastor Rod Parsley in 2009.

Pastor George believes God has created everyone with a “Plan and Purpose”. This belief is a burning vision deeply rooted in Pastor George’s heart and spirit.

In 2013, Pastor George and his lovely wife Deborah started He Lives Christian Center in Emporia, Virginia with a mission to first help God’s people discover their purpose, then to motivate and encourage them to be empowered by following their purpose.

Pastor George has returned to his roots and is again guided and supported by the Leadership of Dr. Wayne E. Anderson and The International City of Refuge Christian Church Ministries.

Pastor George is married to First Lady Deborah R. Edwards and has six children. He is currently pursuing a degree in Religion from Nyack College of New York.
